But first here's more of my story-
Your Instructor
My story, and the Leatherhelp story, is not a new one, it is the culmination of 30 years in the trenches in the leather related services industry.
It started with my dad, John Repp, along with a group of other people who started New Life Service Company in New York in the early 1970’s. They worked to develop the early skills and chemicals necessary for leather cleaning, repairs and refinishing. Some years later the original group spread throughout the country with Dad settling in southern Pennsylvania. He has faithfully practiced his trade, run New Life Service Co., and provided for his family ever since.
By 13 years old, I was spending my summers carrying buckets, cleaning up after Dad and learning the trade for myself. Through high school and college, I continued to learn from my dad working with him part-time. After college, I decided to stay with the company. With a growing family of my own, I threw myself fully into repairing leather and growing the business.
Over the years as a technician, I've done it all. 1000’s of leather furniture cleaning and repair jobs in homes, offices, stores and warehouse facilities. In the last 10 years, I've even restored the leather in multi-million dollar aircraft for some of the biggest named companies and sports teams in the Baltimore/ Washington area.
Through the years, one of my great pleasures has been to teach others about leather and leather repair. Giving someone a new set of skills with the potential for great financial benefit, is so fulfilling.
Then there's my other passion of using the tools of the internet to grow and expand my business.
